Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a contract between you and ProteinQuest, operated by Niketh Putta, London, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). They cover the ProteinQuest app, this website, and related services (together, the "service").
By creating an account, scanning a meal, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Who we are
ProteinQuest is a consumer protein tracker. Contact: niketh13putta@gmail.com.
The service
ProteinQuest lets you scan or describe food, estimate protein and calories, track a daily goal, and progress a dragon companion. Estimates are generated with AI and food tables. They are approximate, for general wellness only, and are not medical, dietary, or professional advice. Do not use the service to diagnose, treat, or manage a health condition. If you have a medical need, speak to a qualified professional.
Eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old to use ProteinQuest. If you are under 18, you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms. The service is not directed at children under 14.
Accounts
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to that sign-in method. Nicknames must be unique and must not include abuse, hate, or other prohibited language. We may refuse or remove a name or photo that breaks these Terms. We may suspend or close an account that is abused, used to harm others, or used to attack the service.
Free access and ProteinQuest Pro
- New accounts get unlimited meal logging on the calendar day they sign up.
- After that day, free accounts can log 1 meal per day unless a paid plan is active.
- ProteinQuest Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited AI meal scans and Pro features described in the app.
- Prices are shown in the paywall and on the App Store or Google Play before you confirm. Current listed plans are a monthly plan (about £9.99 per month) and a yearly plan (about £29.99 billed once per year). Your store may show a local currency and tax.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm.
- The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel or manage the plan in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- The signup-day free access does not require a card and does not auto-start a paid plan.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us directly.
Apple App Store purchases are also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload photos or text you do not have the right to use.
- Use abusive, hateful, sexual, or unlawful nicknames, dragon names, or feedback.
- Probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the service, except where the law allows.
- Use the service to harm another person or to impersonate them.
Your content
You keep ownership of photos, notes, and names you submit. You give us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content only to run the service for you (including sending a meal photo to an AI provider to return a nutrition estimate, and showing your nickname on the league). We do not sell your photos.
Feedback
Written notes you send in the app come to us so we can improve the product. They are not published. A star rating you choose to send opens the App Store or Google Play rating flow, which those stores control.
Intellectual property
ProteinQuest, the dragon art, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service. You may not copy the product, the art, or the brand for a competing service.
Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that nutrition estimates are exact, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that every food will be recognised. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot waive under UK consumer law.
Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales. Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of data, lost progress, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including reliance on an estimate.
Ending the service
You may stop using the service at any time and may ask us to delete your account. We may stop providing the service, or part of it, if we need to. Paid plans still follow the store cancellation rules above.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The date at the top will change. If a change is material, we will show it in the app or by email where we have one. Continued use after the new date means you accept the update. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
Law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without removing any consumer right to bring a claim in your home country where the law requires that.
