Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ProteinQuest, operated by Niketh Putta, London, United Kingdom ("we"), handles personal data when you use the ProteinQuest app and proteinquest.app. We are the controller of that data for UK GDPR purposes.

What we collect
- Account: a user ID, and if you sign in, the email and sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or email).
- Profile you choose to save: nickname, optional photo, birthday, height, weight, sex, activity, goals, and dragon names and progress.
- Meals: food names, portions, protein, calories, notes you type, and photos you scan or pick.
- League: your nickname, rank, and progress shown to other signed-in users on the board.
- Feedback: written notes you send us, and whether you opened a store rating.
- Subscription status: whether Pro is active. We do not receive your full card number.
- Product events: taps such as scan started, paywall viewed, and reminder opened, tied to your account so we can fix the product.
- Device basics needed to run the app, including notification permission if you turn reminders on.
We do not sell personal data. We do not show third-party ads.
Camera, photos, and notifications
Camera and photo library access are requested only when you scan or choose a meal photo, or add a profile photo. You can deny access in system settings. Optional meal reminders are sent only if you turn them on. They are local notifications to help you log food. They are not used for advertising.
AI analysis
A meal photo or text description is sent to an AI provider (OpenAI and, as a fallback, Google) so we can return a food name and nutrition estimate. We send what is needed for that request, not your payment details. Results are estimates. Providers process the image or text to answer the request. We do not allow those photos to be used for advertising.
Who we share data with
We use these processors to run the service:
- Supabase: accounts, database, and photo storage.
- OpenAI and Google: meal analysis.
- Apple and Google: sign-in and store subscriptions.
- RevenueCat: subscription status on iOS and Android.
We share data with them only to provide the feature you used. We may also disclose data if the law requires it. Your nickname and league progress are visible to other ProteinQuest users on the league. Your meal photos are not shown on the league.
Why we use data
- Contract: to create your account, save meals, run the dragon, and provide a paid plan you buy.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the service reliable, stop abuse, and understand which screens fail. We do not use this to build ad profiles.
- Consent: camera, photo library, and notifications, which you can withdraw in system settings.
How long we keep data
We keep account, profile, and meal data while your account exists. You can delete meals in the app. To delete the account and associated photos, email niketh13putta@gmail.com from the address on the account, or tell us the sign-in email. We aim to complete deletion within 30 days, except where we must keep a record for law, fraud, or a store dispute. Feedback notes are kept so we can act on them, then deleted when they are no longer needed.
Security and transfers
Data is sent over HTTPS. It is stored with Supabase. Some processors (including Apple, Google, OpenAI, and RevenueCat) may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on their contractual safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required.
Age
ProteinQuest is for people aged 14 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 14. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and you can object to or restrict some processing. Email niketh13putta@gmail.com. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This website
proteinquest.app is a marketing page. It does not run advertising cookies. A normal server log may record the page requested and a browser string so the site can load. Store preview images are public.
Changes
We will update the date at the top when this policy changes. If a change is material, we will surface it in the app. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
